Kurt har fått diagnosen alzheimer sjukdom. Han vill inte acceptera och han håller det så hemligt det går, men det blir allt svårare att dölja. En mordbrännare i Skåne har avtjänat sitt straff och han släpps ut i det fria. Men han är inte välkommen i det skånska lilla samhället och kioskägaren vill inte ens sälja honom cigaretter. Samma natt antänds kiosken och kioskägaren bränns inne. Mordbrännaren jagas åter igen för mordbrand. Kurt är förvirrad och kan inte hålla isär saker, istället för att berätta som det är så hittar han på. Martinsson anklagar honom för lögn och får allt svårare att lita på Kurt. Senare hittas den misstänkte mordbrännaren svårt misshandlad och medvetslös. Kurt bestämmer sig för att berätta för Linda att han är allvarligt sjuk och att han behöver hennes hjälp.
