Bästa vännerna Grim och Aksel har ända sedan de var åtta drömt om att vinna Norska Mästerskapet i Rock. Tillsammans bildar de gruppen Los Bando Immortale. Grim spelar trummor medan Aksel sjunger och spelar gitarr. Tyvärr är inte Aksels sångröst särskilt bra, utan snarare helt förfärlig. Men detta vågar inte Grim berätta för Aksel. När de oväntat väljs ut för att delta i NM i Rock måste Grim hitta en lösning - och det snabbt. Efter en misslyckad basist-audition, får de med sig nio år gamla Thilda på cello - och den lokala rallytalangen Martin som chaufför. Vad de inte inser är att han inte har något körkort, och bilen är tjuvlånad. Bandet ger sig ut på en humoristisk och fartfylld resa genom Norge - med polis och föräldrar i hälarna. Det blir en kapplöpning mot tiden för att komma till Tromsø i tid för deras livs största upplevelse.
