Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera och de andra är tillbaka. Djungelboken 2 tar vid bara fem dagar efter att vi lämnade Mowgli i människobyn. Han trivs med sin nya familj, men längtar tillbaka till sin gamla vän Baloo. När Mowglis djungellekar försätter byns barn i fara förbjuder Mowglis nya pappa honom att lämna byn. Sårad och ledsen smiter han ut med hjälp av Baloo. Vad Mowgli inte vet är att hans nya vän, en flicka som heter Shanti, är orolig för honom.
