Det är natt. En polisbil stannar vid en punkterad skåpbil på en ödslig väg: två yngre män är i färd med att byta däck. Poliserna kliver ur radiobilen och erbjuder hjälp. Plötsligt kliver en tredje ung man ur skåpbilen. En av poliserna reagerar direkt - mannen är en välbekant kriminell, han förstår omedelbart att han är igenkänd. Han har dessutom rånat ett militärlager för tio minuter sedan, och har bilen full med vapen och sprängmedel. Situationen är ohållbar.
